Describe a typical day of your life.

Everyday I wake up at 5am to get ready to go to school. I take a shower and get dress. By 6:10am I am out the door waiting at the bus stop waiting for the public bus to arrive. Every day I have to get on a bus filled with the people who work at different place around the city. By 6:30 I have arrive at the bus terminal that is up the street from my high school. I have walk about two more blocks before I get to my school. I have to take the early bus to school because the buses that run by my house runs every hour so the next bus would have mad me very late to school. Once I am school I wait and see if any of my friends are there if not I study for any test that I have coming up next. The bell rings at8am to signal us it time for our first period class. I make it though all periods and on my way home again. I have to walk the same two blocks that I previously walk to get to school in the morining to go back home. Once I have made it back home I have to get washed up for my after school snack. ( my mother makes me eat right when I get home because she knows I don't really care for the school lunch) once I am done with the snack I start to do my homework. I am about two hours in my homework I take a break to star on college applications. My older brother who has drop out of college sees fit interupte me to watch his dumb football game. I have no choice but to let him because he keeps nagging me . And I have to delay doing my homework for three hours. When the game is finally done I finish my homework and go to sleep around 1pm in the mooring and then I have to start my kiting all over agin

Semester 9 Essay – prompt # 4: Since the cloning of the sheep Dolly, there has been much debate over whether or not human beings should be cloned. Many people feel this is a violation of the natural order of things and that all research in the area of human cloning should be banned. Others feel that this is a natural progression of science and human evolution and that research in the area of human cloning should be priority. How do you feel about this issue? Use specific reasons and examples to support your position.

               Imagine yourself  waking up to get ready to go to your work but  instead of your own self go to a dead job you have a exact carbon copy of yourself to go out to the job that you don’t really like.  Cloning is something that has been on many scientist minds for decades, having the ability to make an exact replica of the human being is seen as the breakthrough of the science world. The process in which an organism is replicated to make another copy is called cloning which by some people’s point of views is ageist the law of nature and it’s what god would not want to happen.

       Hollywood has token the ideal of cloning and used it into several movies such as Gatca, and the island. These movies have both depicted a world which humans make another copy of themselves purely to harvest them to live longer. Some bad things with cloning would be if the person that is being cloned had a mental illness that illness would also be replicated to the clone and that clone would have the same life expectance of the ordinal person. This could be seen a big step back for the people who want to clone people. According to a website called buzzlewebsite another reason why cloning would be bad is “There are many villains in society who would want to disrupt peace and order for their selfish motives. What if these people are able to get scientists to clone Hitler or someone who had a disruptive mind set? These dangerous leaders would come alive and with weapons of mass destruction available today unleash hell on us. Cloning humans will never let the population on earth attain balance. This will lead to depletion of natural resources, places to live and put stress on the ecosystem. This would lead to more fights between people and countries for precious resources like water, coal and food to sustain life.” Having another Hitler just seem very horrible because we would have another world war 3 but with nuclear weapons and that would mean that the world would be at great jeopardy at being destroyed.

            Cloning is something that is still being worked on as we speak and should not be allowed to be used because it is disturbing the natural life cycle of life. If people do not die we will end having a huge surplus of people and no way of feeding them. That could simply lead to a war for the world’s natural sources. So in my personal opinion I think that cloning is a very horrible thing because it goes against the natural law where one person dies and another person lives. Think about the natural order of things before you decide to go and get cloned.

Modern Life without computers.

Modern life without computers would be the day that anarchy for millions around the world. Because we rely so much on the computer to do our day to bases we have become a society that has become purely lazy and sometimes unable to function properly.About 99.2 percent of people all around the world are using computers. 36.2 percent of people using Internet explore, 46.3 percent using FireFox , 10.8 percent using Google chrome, 3.7percent using Safari, and 2.2 percent using opera. With those percents you can see that having or using a computer has become very popular. A world without computers would be like stepping back into the olden years when you had women at work having kids and the men out in the working world. That is a world we look to when we don't see computers. Computers have been the thing that we hold we so highly up on our pedestal of importance in our our lives. Without computers in our lives it would be very hard some people to communicate with others in their family. That would be the biggest thing for everyone if their were no computers in the modern world. We would be forced to talk to the people we try to avoided on a day to day bases.

For centuries, people have wondered about the possibility of life on other planets in the universe. Do you believe extraterrestrial life exists? Write an essay persuading others to share your point of view.

When you go outside at night in your front lawn and look up in the sky and what do you see? You can see the stars and other things. Have you ever wonder if their could be another person just like you across the universe looking at the same sky like you. Copernicus was one of the first to test the waters in which people believed in about the world and the surrounding galaxies.  Copernicus ideals were only the beginning of the revolution during the mid 1700’s in Europe.

             With the increase in technology and the dwelling  water supply more and more scientist around the world are looking to the  sky to see if there are other people with water and natural resources to help us maintain our humanity. The Ecology network wrote an article saying “more than 20.5 light years away exists a planet that is very much like Earth, has its own star and a solid, rocky surface.  It may very well be able to sustain life.  The international team of Swiss, Portuguese and French researchers who discovered the planet in 2007 found it orbiting around diminutive red dwarf star, named Gliese 581, which is located in the constellation Libra.”  With this new found evidence unreal’s the ideal if their was life on another planet how can we communicate with them. The ideal that we could have another society just like us or different is just mind boggling.  Their has been many mission out to of the Milky Way galaxies in search of life and water.  The closet planet that was found to have any life on it some scientist believes we have already killed the life and much find another planet. According to the Seattle PI “The Mars landers did all their chemical analyses by mixing samples with water -- a step that would have prompted a powerful chemical reaction in any microbe full of hydrogen peroxide, killing it and releasing the peroxide.” With that in mind we can only wonder what really happen on Mars and the rover.

                So if we ever come into contact with other species in the other planets. The only thing we have as an outliner of how the world might change is the Star Wars movies. In the movies the United States and the other countries across the world are the as the galaxies of the republic. And aliens with weird tensile are in corpated in everyday society. Did George Lucas give us a glimpse into the future of our lives? So the next time you go outside keep on wondering who is looking at you. One day they may be able to talk back at you.

Semester 8 Essay- Prompt #36: Elementary and secondary around the country are beginning to actively address the problem of bullies. In your own opinion, is bullying an issue that should be addressed by schools or left to parents? Use specific reasons and examples to support your position?

         Everyday around the nation millions of children wake up everyday to get ready for school, once they have arrived at school they could have either a very fun day or a very miserable day filled with different children laughing or making fun of them. This is only the aspects of bullying for children. Now and days many children are becoming victims of bullying and schools are not doing any thing about the bullying until the child is beaten down. Something that was once a passage to becoming a kid is now a killer amongst many children all around the world because a new way is being used to the bully advantages which is the Internet that is connected to everyone around the world.

         I think that bullying should be dealt with both the school and the parent because it is both the school and parents responsibility to make sure the child does not physically, verbally or cyber bully another person. With different types of bullying becoming better known there should be a major crack down with all children. Bullying could easily lead to some Childs death because they suffer being humiliate at school and do not know how to share it with their parents. In a survey down by the  family first aid  “students in grades 6 to 10, 13 percent reported bullying others, 11 percent reported being the target of school bullies, and another 6 percent said they bullied others and were bullied themselves.” The school should punish the child for picking on bullying other children because they put pressure on the other children for being perfect which no one is perfect and Elementary and younger kids do not know that yet so they try to fit in which could sometimes cause death. And it could also cause the child being afraid to go to school and anxious to whenever they go to school which has them loosing concentration in school ,and also has them not paying attention in school and could lead to bad grades.

      For example if their was child that was overweight that attend a normal seize school of about nine hundred students in the student body. That child could get pick on because that child is overweight and society sees people that are overweight as monsters and not normal people. The person that is doing the bullying is sometimes the person that has been the victim in a bullying incident. This could cause them to bully the person that is overweight and new to the school.  Both the school and parents should work together to make sure the child does not bully any one else. I think both sides should work together because the children spend a lot of time at the school and at home so they are able to pick up any thing negatively at both places. If the child knows that treating people in an evil way is bad they would not do the bullying.

Prompt#31- Across the country, public places such as libraries and museums is now smoke- free environments, and restaurants are required to have separate smoking and non-smoking sections. Some smoke- free advocates are now campaigning to ban smoking in all restaurants and bars. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your position.

           Smoking and Alcohol are two very bad combinations. The nicotine in the cigarette increases the affect that alcohol has on the user. With smoking and the nicotine that can be found in it, it’s one of the most popular addictive drugs on the U.S market. When you add smoking and drinking together you have to very dangerous and flammable things. When a person drinks they loose part of their motor skills and when a person smokes they are only worried about finishing the cigarette they started.

           “Approximately 20.9% (44.5 million) adults currently smoke. Of these, 81.3% (36.1 million) smoke every day, and 18.7% (8.3 million) smoke some days.” (www.Quiteguide.com) among those who smoke everyday some of those adults go into bars for a drink and once in the bar they take a smoke. When you smoke in a bar that is filled with flammable things you risk the whole place on fire.  You also increase you risk of getting center diseases like cancer.

      Several studies have shown that Alcohol and the consumption of Cigarettes and no physical exercise increasing the chance of death in adults. When you smoke and drink in a bar you several things like if a person leaves their cigarette close to their drink and another customer comes in and accidentally knocks the other person drink they risk a fire in the bar. And for the person that smokes all the time they are very inconsiderate for the person that does not smoke they give the other person second hand smoke, which is also a very horrible. Both smoking and Alcohol when in use can be very dangerous they lower people life skills and increase many deaths in the U.S and other countries.

        Smoking in bars and restaurants should be ban because the air that is in the room of several places affect everyone around the person that is smoking and they can inhale what the person is breathing out. Second hand smoking is becoming more and more unsafe as smoking a cigarette. Second hand smoking is even more dangerous when it is inhaled by a younger person of age like a baby or a young adult.   When you go out to eat and you see a person smoking near you and you don’t really like it you go up to the person ask them if they put out their cigarette. If they decide not put out their cigarette you can always go to the manger and tell them. Also remember that smoking and drinking are very dangerous things to combine because you could just end up burning down a restaurant or even your house. 

Explain the meaning of diversity.

Diversity is the definition of being different from other people. Diversity is something that is like being different from the other person. It could be as simply as of where the person comes from or the way they look. Diversity is the key thing that makes up the country of the U.S. We are country that were founded by immigrants that then went to  becoming the most diverse population, with people search for a new place to make a family and grow as individual.Having diversity in someone community allows the person to stop being ignorant of the rumors of other races such as how they look or even how they approach other people.
Diversity in the work place could be a very good thing because it shows that the employer is a person that does not think only about one thing but about many other thing.

Describe the how communication has changed in the last 20 years.

   Once upon a long long time ago their was no such thing of the Internet , cellphones, t.v or the  radio. Since the beginning of the world humans have always wanted to communicate with each other. Communications has changed year after year from the simply writing of a letter to the fast world of sending a email to someone all the way around the world from where you live. And even now their is something also called a web cam where two people can chat with someone. The introduction of the web can show how much communication has gown. Even with the introduction of the cellphone , when it first came out it use to resemble the size of a regular phone but with any wires. But with new technologies cellphones are now getting as small as a computer mouse.
      They way to communicate with people will and has dramatically over the past twenty years by means quickly allowing the person to talk to another person.We  will soon beginning another new age of technology which will never stop.

Discuss how conveniences change people's lives.

   When people have the ability to have the comfortably to have short cuts in their lives they take things for granted. It could a person life dramatically by having  different types of convinces in their life they becoming the person that does not know the meaning of struggling and knowing how to stretch what little money they have.For example people that have parents who are in the upper class also known as the one percent are very oblivious on how people in the working or lower class make it from day to day. The people who are in the one percent have everything handed down to them with very little effort. They have the convince to to lay back and allow the money to flow in and never know the pain and struggle to and how to work for a dollar. Having different conveniences  for some people who have nothing could change their lives for ever because it allows them to relax instead of stressing out they could have so much fun.

Discuss the causes of and health problems resulting from teenage smoking.

    Smoking is one of the hardest habit to break. It is a very addictive thing because of the nicotine that is in it and other horrible chemicals that is also found in it. Teenagers start smoking for several different reasons one may because they see their family or someone close to them smoke, which makes them want to. Another reason may be because they find it very cool to smoke. Their are several  reasons why its horrible for teenagers to smoke at such a young age because it will affect them later in their adult years and also it make them very addictive which them will stay addicted to until they are died. Some other heath problems that will affect teenagers would be the cause of breathing problems such as asthma. Asthma is something that makes it very harder for the person to breath in certain climates. It is something that usually would stick to the person around until they could mange problem or would temporally go away and then reappear when they are in a tough place for them to breath in.

    When a teenagers starts to smoke they loose  senses  of smell and taste.Smokers can't smell or taste because they are so used to the smell and taste of the nicotine that are in the smokes they use everyday.

Math is a required subject. Explain why is it so important.

Mathematics is used in everything for the day to day activities of everyone around the. Math is very important because it allows people to calculate they do. Also it makes sure they are not taken advantage of when they are doing simply task like tyring to sell things that they grown on their time. Math also allows the brain to take on tough situations and clear and use logical to answer the worlds difficult problems that face everyone. Math is something that is widely used in every job and in other fields.Without math we would never be able to find out  how many people are in each city or town. With the usage of math we are able to do some much things such as clear up a agreement between the amount of square feet each person has and how much taxes they need to pay.

Describe the purpose of the internet.

The Internet is something that just now has become very popular. Something that was able to connect two people from different countries around the world. The purpose of the internet was to connect and inform people to the world around them. It was very different from the old ways of sending mail letters to people that sometime could take up serval weeks to it's destination. For those people who logics the source of Internet to the customers they see it as a way to make more money and trap people into different contracts which takes them a very long time to get out of them. A source that was seen as the begining of a new age of technogloe has now been seen as the source of addiction to some others because they on the computer for so many long hours.

Explain the problems , both personal and societal, that results from obesity

Obesity also known as the silent killer has effect many around the world for many years. Obesity is something hurts the person by which they could sometimes never be in the company of others. The person then becomes an outsider to the world they once knew and continue to eat the things tha has made them the way the Are. We are a society that looks so into tue way people look that we sometimes forget what's imprudent the inside of the person and their feelings. You could have a person that looks very good but they could have a very nasty atitude which we dimiss because they are someone that fits so perfectly into what we call the perfect socity. Obesity is something that has a great on peoples emotion when they are picked on. Some people could be so mean by calling them horible words such as fatty.
Some things that could result in a person to become obest is that they just dont care about their self or they had something happen to them that mad them start to eat alot . With some of these reasons always comes the result that they will becoming the person to mock around the world.

Explain how two people of different interests and background could become unlikely allies

Two people who have hated or are completey different from each othe could become allies if they found out they had somethng in common. Having something in common with someone that a first has been the complete opposite of you you to could have a factor that brings the to of you together. Because of that thing that has unites those to people could make them very stronger and become very fast. Not that long ago I personaly saw two different of different races become allies. They were decents of two different races. But a stituation that they faced in the community they went to school in were brought together were brought together to fight a common oppresssor after the fight was down they had become very good friends.

Explain outdoor living to a person with an apartment in the city.

If you are someone that has always lived in the city and never took a step out into the other world like the outdoors near a woods. Life could be very different for one thing there is no internet and for those people who are addictive to the internet this could be very hard for them and also their is a vast amount of plants and animals. So if you want to take a trip to the outdoors also known as the forest be very careful. Their are many different things that lurk out there. Be very watch full of the bears and dears that may approach you looking for food from you .The outdoors is a vast place where you can think very clear and breath in the fresh air that surrounds you and other things. A place where you can become one with nature and nature will become one with you. A different world where there is no need to bring and outside things. Listen closely and you can hear different birds chirping and the steps of the animals that are around you. Breath deeply in and you can have the scent in yor body let inside your body and heal your insides. Open your eyes and take a step but becareful because you could easily step a twig. During the summer be be careful you could run into butterflies and fireflies at the night time

Semester 7 Essay- Prompt 35- Some people think that school cafeterias should be required to provide low-fat/ and or vegetarian lunch options to accommodate the easting habits of all students. Do you agree or disagree? Explain your position and use specific reasons and examples as support.

       It is mid afternoon all across the country; millions of students file into their cafeteria looking for something to eat at lunch time. School lunches are supposed to be a health choice for several students across the nation but they are not. Certain food choices that are given to children are beef and fried chicken and only an ounce of fruit. With obesity growing within the youth schools should be required to provide children with a low-fat option for lunch to help save millions of children’s lives. If schools were required to provide low- fat lunches to students they help decreases the possibility of the children get diabetes and other life risking illness. On average young children and older spend less time exercising and more time sitting in front of the TV. The older you get the slower your metabolism slows down which makes it harder for your food to break down and easier for you to gain weight. With that in mind I think it is the responsibility of the school and the parents to provide low- fat or vegetarian meals to kids around the nation to better insure their health because children are the future.

       Having health food options in schools show child what type of things are good to eat and also does not get them addicted to fatty foods such as French fries or hamburgers.  Health foods give several children the liberty to live long instead of their parents burying them. Now and days many low-fat foods and vegetarian can be easily have the same taste as any other food on the market. Why schools shouldn’t be required to provide healthier food options to their students when students spend most of their time there studying and learning to achieve in the society today. Health foods such as turkey and skinless chicken can be expense but it helps add more life years into you and become stronger.

      For us as a nation to become better than what we are it all starts with what we eat and give to the future of the nation little children. Schools need to stop giving children high calorie and sugar drinks. And replace those lunches with something better that could help the students grow into health productive citizens who could help the economy. It gets down to the bottom line where the schools need to think about how different foods are slowly killing many kids and decide to fix different things at lunch time like green vegetables that helps build bones. And also try a little more salads and less pizza and short ribs that cause heart attack and other things. School need to stop thinking about the taste for children and start thinking about the health contacts of it and how it help children, or else we will become a society where parents bury their children and not the other way around .

Semester6 Essay Prompt#34- Many people immigrate to the United States because they believe that it is better than their native county. In fact, many people believe that the United States is the best in the world. Do you agree? Why or Why not?

When the founding fathers of the United States set the building blocks of a new nation they didn’t know how many people would get attracted to the idea of the new nation and move to the U.S. The U.S from the beginning was by far a union that any other country had seen. Its goal was to have a nation that allowed people to worship how they wish and that every man was created equally. And should have a government ruled by the people and for the people with no royal family over it. With some of these ideas throughout the years the United States has become the promise land for many people looking for a way to give their family a better life and to make vast wealth for their family.

      With the economy becoming very unstable more and more people are thinking that the U.S is still the land of opportunity. But for those people who have grown up in the United States it’s another world. From the inside the U.S has one of the highest poverty rates for being one of the powerful countries in the world. And from the outside many believe that the U.S is somewhere they can start a family or better themselves with a free education. But the nation people dream about from around the world is very different close up over the years the United Sates has changed dramatically it is not the same nation as it use to be.

          I believe the U.S has become very corrupt in its political system by the huge corporate companies. The United States is no longer a country governed by the people and for the people, it is now the country governed by the big business and for the big business. In name the U.S is still a powerful country.  But when it comes to money we are slowly slipping into second position in the ratings each and everyday we are slowly becoming owned by the People’s Republic of China. The other thing that has lessen the U.S world has lost it’s repetition for being a country that lets ideals grow, and a nation for the little person and became a nation that is now for different companies. Because many big business have spent millions of dollars bribing different senators and house of reparative in passing laws that would help better their company and allow them to do what ever they want to do.

      Overall I think in the begging of the United States history it was a good thing the country was different from others that were already out their. The young nation showed good prospect it was known as the land of opportunity. But now the country is no longer how it uses to be because many people in power have become very greedy and no longer think about the people and only think about them. The U.S is not the best in the world for the simply fact that some people are living to big in the country and does not know how to share it with the lower class people.

    

    

Describe your vision of a perfect vacation

I am in the middle of an ocean on a white sandy beach with no one in sight. I look from the sand to see a clear blue ocean right in front of me. I can see serval palm trees trees all around me. I feel at piece with myself. Every moring i take a morining walk on the beach to get ready for breakfast in the main hall of the hotel i am satying at. While i am walking i hear the sounds of  ocean come towards me and see serval dolphins  arising from the sea to great who every is on the beach.After i have had my breakfast for the day i make my way back to my large room. it is filled with scents of the roses and liily petals the hotel employes have left their for me. I stay in my room for a couple hours reading books and other things such as studying different lanuges. I take a nap and then after i awake i get dressed for the big feast the hotel has prepared for its guest. i am stunned by all the food that has been layed out for. Many different meats and dresets. It takes me at least many hours to go through the whole meals. After i am full i make my way back to my room and flopp onto my pillow to fall fast alseep . I quickly fall alseep to wake up for another day. Another day of fun and peice full medtation i find on the island of peridaise where everyone is happy. I will be here for a couple of days skiing and swimming and other things. On my last day i sign up for a expolaration trip with the hotel. They said they are going to show us around the whole island  and at the end of the hike we will have dinner on top of a volcano. we make our way through the rain forest out in the back of the hotel and the we start to make our to the cliffts of the volcano where many people have to turn aorund because they become very ill. i finally make it to the top where i find a lovely dinner for ten have fun feasting with the other guest that has made it with me.

My journey on a pirate ship

My friends and I decide to take a cruse for the last days together before we went off to college. We packed up our bags and were off on massive ship our destination was the Disney island. The first day was so much fun playing in the arcades and then swimming. It was not until the 2nd day when things change. The Disney ship which we were was highjack by pirates. We didn't know what to do everyone was screaming . Once the pirates all got on board then round up all the passengers and took us to the one part of the boat where I never knew existed. I looked for my best friend KIm to see where she was I asked her what she thought they were going to do with us. She said " be quiet Cherise before you give them ideals". Then I asked her where was our other friend Jenny. No one knew where she was.

Describe the youngest person you know.

The youngest person I know is my little cousin alex. He is 11 and in the sixth grade. He is about five feet and three inches. He happens to be the most playful person i have ever known. He plays baseball like the rest of tue family. We go every weekend to go and see him play at tue park. He tells me that when he grows up he wants to be a baseball player. He is my cousin because my mother and his mother are sister. Our families do everything together. I was there when he was born. And he tries to tell me that he was there for my birth but I tell him he was not even thought about then. He is the youngest person I know because he is the last person that I know who was born.

Describe the oldest person you know.

The oldest person I know is my grand aunt Joanne. She lives in California like the rest of my family except form a couple of people. She is very active for her age she grew up in Belize with my grandmother. My aunt is sometimes more active than I am at times. She likes to do yoga and run and if their is a sale she goes shopping. When I was younger she use to tell me stories about when she was younger and growing up in Belize. I always fond out that we could talk about anything. She has very long hair and looks like she could be in a magazine. I was always told that I got my height from my aunt . She is the same height as I am and has the same shape to.

Describe your favorite season . Tell what kinds of things you do during that season.

I was born in the winter I think that is why I like winter so much. Other people I know like summer. The reason why I like winter so much is because I like to stay at home at watch movies with my family. My family is always busy but during the winter when it rains to hard mother would decid that she would call in for a sick day of work and neither I or my brother would go to school. We would just stay at home and watch movies all day long. We found it as a way to catch with each others lifes. The the other reason I like winer is because I the way I could the rain outside when the cars on the street pass my house. And when was younger my brother and I use to run down the street to the bakery . Where whoevr loses would have to buy the winner cake. I also like staying inside drinking hot chocolate and reading my favorite book.

How old were you four years ago? Describe some of the things you could do now that you could do now.

Four years ago does not seem that long ago but for a teenagers it seems like another life time. Four years ago I was just about to gradrate from middle school and enter the dangerous world of high school. I still thought I could do anything I want to and get Away with it. I was not allowed to stay up pass midnight with friends or stay home alone for a day. Now since I am soon approaching the age of adult hood my moths has greatly loosen the bult on me . If I go out with a friend she is ok with it. I am aloud to go see a horror film by myself and with friends. But there is still one thing I am not allowed to do yet which is to drive. I ask my mother over and over when can I practice. I think she thinks if I get my licenses she has lost her baby forever. Some other things I could not do when I was younger was ride the bus public bus. Now that I am older I have learn to appreciate the things I did with my mother when I was younger because I am now getting older and will not always be around my mother forever.

My own restaurant

It's called the sea breeze , about a mile up on the pacific coast high way is where you can find us. When you first enter the restaurant you can smell the fresh seafood that was just caught from the ocean floor. The inside of the resturant is painted all blue the color of the sea. Our most poplar dish is called California dream. We start off with a fresh piece of halibut we take it and grill it on both sides until it is brown. Then for the sides we have a fresh steam white rice or vegetables. On Sundays we have a all you can lobster festival at the end of each month. We are known for or deserts we have a wonderful red velvet cake and fesh made ice icream. So whenever you are in the neughborhood just stop on by to ge lunch or dinner.

Brother Or Sister

          My mother had two children myself and my older brother.My older brother believes that girls and boys can not coexist, so he has made it apart of his life to get on my nerves the best way he sees fit. My brother does everything he can to get me angry. One time for my tenth birthday he tried to beat me down when i was coming out of the shower. And on other occasions he tries to trip me . One time my brother tried to destroy my science project, my mother got very mad and made him redo the whole thing. But now since i have grown older i have come up with my own ways of getting my brother back for the things he has down to me. My mother has called says that one day she was going to run away from the both of us. And we both told her that one person would not be  at home when she returned.
            My brother is just know starting to become normal as i see it , we just know starting to get along with each other. Sometimes we can talk with each other for hours with out one of us being mad at on another. But when that is over we are back at each others throats . My mother says that we are like the four seasons always changing and fighting against another. I have tired several times to sell my brother but at the end of the day i really do love my older brother and i know he loves me to.

The Baby Dragon

Once upon a time there was a baby dragon name George . George was always picked on at dragon because he was different. Whenever George tried to breath fire skillets came out of his mouth.All of the dragons would laugh at him from across the land. One day George came home  from dragon school telling his mother he didn't want to go back ti dragon school because everyone was making fun of him. His mother told him that it was o.k being different from the rest of the dragons. That being different makes you  special from the rest of the dragons and that  many  dragons are angry at him for that reason only. So on the next day George went back to school and ran right into the school bully name Ladon. Ladon was about twice the height of George and could breath fire out of his mouth. Ladon got very angry when George ran into him and challenge  George to fight after school.

George went to class in a hurry and tried to forget about the morning all day but he couldn't. He finally was released into his last class and it was about to end When school was over George quickly ran to the front gate to home but was caught by Ladon. Ladon told George  that he was going to beat him into a pan cake. George tried to huddle into a ball and then remember what his mother told him and opened  his mouth at Ladon and skillets came out. Ladon was caught off guard and couldn't protect himself . Ladon flew away and after everyone was cheering for George . George became very popular after the fight with Ladon and no one else want to make fun of him after that point on.

What do you like best about your home?

About two years ago my mother woke the whole family up at 3a.m to go to black Friday sale at Walmart. Our goal was to pick up at 32 inch flat screen HD T.V. Once we pick it up and took it home that has been the best thing in our house ever since. I wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons  before anyone in the house. On Sunday mornings it's very hard to get my brother away from the t.v because of football  games. One time my mother threaten my brother and I  that she was going to through away the t.v so we got  together and the t.v from our mother. The flat screen t.v is the best thing in my house because it's still the newest and one thing the whole family had to wake up really early to go and get.

Prompt #15: More and more farmers and food manufactures are genetically modifying their crops to reduce susceptibility to diseases, improve flavor, and reduce costs. Do you think genetically modifying foods is a good idea? Why or Why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your position.

            When you walk through the different aisles of your local grocery store what do you see? When you shop for your favorite foods do you shop for the flavors or the health contact of it? Many consumers are unaware of what is put into their favorite food products. With the slow economy many farmers are trying ways that slashes the growing process in half.

             Giant companies and small town farmers are turning to genetically modifying crops. Without knowing the side effects of modifying crops companies and farmers are putting the life of many people on the line in order to produces crops in record time. “Environmental activists, religious organizations, public interest groups, professional associations and other scientists and government officials have all raised concerns about GM foods and critized agribusiness for pursuing profit without concern for potential hazards, and the government for failing to exercise adequate regulatory oversight (Whitman, Deborah).”

             Genetically modifying crops has become more popular than ever before with the lack of water in many rural areas. Health specialist and private organizations are wondering how the government will educate the public on GM products. GM products are suppose to reduce the time a regular crop is produced in half the time and use less water. But all it is really doing is not allowing the crop enough time to hit its mature age to use it for food. Not allowing the crop to grow enough is taking the richness out of the crop. “Genetically engineering may accelerate the damaging effects of agriculture, have the same impact as conventional agriculture, or contribute to more sustainable agricultural practices and the conservation of natural resources, including biodiversity.( Green Facts).” Genetic Modifying could also produce unknown allegerys to many around the world. And it also means that if a farmer plants a crop with the same DNA and one of the plants comes up with a fungus it will be harder for that farmer to trace back to the plant that had the fungus because it would have the same DNA make up. “Genetic engineering often uses genes for antibiotic resistance as "selectable markers," and most genetically engineered foods carry fully functioning antibiotic resistance genes. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), eating these foods could reduce the effectiveness of antibiotics to fight disease.”

                    So the next time you go down your favorite aisle in the grocery picking up things to make dinner read the label. Because you don’t know what could be put into your food. You could possibly have the apple that was apart of a genetically modifying experiment.

Americans and Television

When the television was first invented in 1953 no one knew how the TV would impact the rest of the world. Some believed that the television was just a fade and would soon disappear. But many people were completely wrong. The television has become the most popular tool of entertainment around the world about 98percent of individuals has a television sitting inside their home.

         With the invention of the television in American homes more people started to spend les time with their love ones either at home or outside getting involved in a physical active. According to a UC Berkeley study “Americans spend 170 minutes a day watching TV and about 2percent of that time is spent doing outside actives” (Sarah Yang). America also has the highest obesity rate in the world. With many Americans sitting in front of the TV they lose precious time spending with their love ones.

        The more time we spend in front of the idiot box the more we lose connection with reality.  We end up thinking the TV shows we watch on a day to day basis is so real we start to incorporate it into our real world lives. We try to socialize with other people our own age; we find that the conversations are only about what television did you watch. And wondering what the TV writers will give us next week.  We neglect the important things of life; we don’t take time out to smell the first grass being cut. For those who are young and watch too much TV they end up doing horrible with their school work.  Young kids keep wondering when they go home what TV are they going to watch and with that they don’t do their home and pay little attention in their life.

        The new generation has brought us new technology and better TV sets. And many individuals’ computer skills have improved dramatically to allow the common person to log on to the internet to view their favorite television show on the internet. With all this new technology the world has become a world that depends on the internet for everything like the TV. Americans and people across the globe have become more tuned out of what is really happening with a lot of governments to get away with horrible acts of evil.

       The corporate world has gotten into the TV business. Every year for the Super bowel more Americans watch TV than any major televised show.  This is the time where many different corporate giants try to compete for new consumers to get addicted to their fantasy products. The way the corporate giants communicate with so many new consumers is through the box that is sitting in so many Americans homes around the country. They use flashy commercials and catchy slogans to communicate with their soon to be new consumers to get them to buy UN health products. So they next time you are watch your teaching remember who is putting through that comical to your house hold. 

Deepest Fear

Last year  in my English class we were told to read a book called IT by Stephen King for Christmas Break and to be done by the time we returned from break. I thought  it was going to be a easy read for me but i was completely wrong. I started to read the book on a six hour bus ride to northern California to visit  my uncle. I open the book and began to read the first chapter was o.k  it was talking about a storm that  hit a small town , it was until i reached pg23 in the book where everything turned wrong for me the author introduced  a crazy clown. The clown named it killed people. (Growing up i was always scared of clowns .I think it's the make people use to look like clown that just does not sit well with my imagination.) I had to stop reading  after the clown killed the little boy. After i closed the book i started to look at the places we were passing by on the bus. My eyes started to close and i found myself asleep. I was dreaming i was in a yellow rain coat and rain boots following a paper boat that i made. I was trying to keep up with it when it went down the gutter. I thought my boat was lost for good, then i saw this clown in the gutter. IT was telling me that all i had to was to reach to him to grab the boat out of his hand. I told him it was o.k . I started to walk away when IT grab my ankle and pulled me towards him he started to say "Everything floats down hear Cherise , everything floats down hear."  I started to scream and that's when i woke up. I saw my brother looking at me like just stolen something of his. Everyone on the bus was looking at me. I felt so embarrassed  like  i just wanted to disappear. It only got worse when my uncle came to pick us up from the bus station.We got in around 6p.m and he decided to take us to see a movie. It happen to be Nightmare on Elm street. I sat through a two hour horror movie with out screaming i was very proud of myself. when we were down he drove us back to his house to settle down for the night. Both me and my brother slept down stairs in the living room. It was around midnight when i had the dream again only this time it involved Freddy and IT. They were both chasing me down a very dark street. When i finally woke up i found myself  breathing fast and lying in my own pool of sweet. I looked around in the darkness and found my uncle's dog  and my brother sleeping o.k. I threw my shoe at my mother to wake him to try to talk to him and all him told me was to go back to sleep and never try to through my shoe at him again if i  wanted to see another day. After i kept thinking to my self that my mother was with me.

Imagine you had hundred dollars, but you could not keep it.

I was walking my usually way to school when I had saw something that caught my eye. I picked up the object, at first i thought it was a one dollar bill. I said to myself i had money to get lunch today. Then i realized the money had some dust on it. So i brushed the remaining dust off then i saw two zeros behind the one. I  thought to myself what was i going to do with the money i found. This was the most money i had every held in my hand. I started to hear my mother's voice when i started to think the ways i could spend the money. My mother use to tell me that if i every found money on the street that was a sign from god that i should share it with the less fortunate. I took my mother's advise to heart and went to the nearest grocery store and but 100 dollars worth of lunches and pass it out to all the homeless people that i saw on the street. I realized how good it felt to share with other people.

When I woke up and saw a dinosaur in my backyard.............

I was fast asleep in my bed when i heard this very annoying sound. My mom yelled from the kitchen to get down stairs. I quickly got dressed and ran down stairs. In my backyard was this very huge animal, it was green and it had black spots all over it. The animal was the size of the empire state building in New York. I felt my mouth hit the ground. My mom quickly turned to me and said "Eleanor Cherise Collins why is there a dinosaur in my backyard." [ I was thinking in my head that i was in major trouble, whenever your parents say  your government you are in big trouble.] All i could say was "Happy Birthday to you". My mom said "why would you think i need a dinosaur." "You can save money on gas" i said. My mom's face turned red it almost look like she was on fire. When i tried to looked into her eyes i thought i was on fire. She told me that i had to get rid of the dinosaur . It took me three weeks to get rid of it, i finally found a traveling circus that was looking for an exotic animal. I sold the dinosaur and was able to buy a car.
